Remember these three ideas before you start:
1. ANYTHING you do blesses your home and family!
2. Work top to bottom, left to right. Don't back track or touch it twice.
3. Gather your supplies first and keep them handy.
Have fun & we will be dancing away the dust with you!
Dusting your home is essential.
Not only do you need to do so to have a clean home, but removing
the dust from pet dander, pollen and other substances can actually
help to decrease the chances that you or someone in your family
will have allergies
Remember left to right - top to bottom - no backtracking!
You don't have to do everything this time. Just dance & shine.
Used fabric softener sheets can be used to dust as a substitute for more
expensive electrostatic cloths.
Remember to look up at the ceiling, in the corners and overhead light
fixtures, and skylights for those annoying little cobwebs that occasionally
come floating down when a guest walks through!
Don't forget to dust those ceiling fans!
Fighting Hidden Dirt
Baseboards:
Put on old socks, spray a bit of cleaning fluid on them and slide your feet
along the baseboard, sticking your toes into corners to get at that
hard-to-reach dust. It's good exercise and the cleaning gets done.
Pleated shades, miniblinds and louvered doors:
To lift off dust, wipe a new paintbrush over the slats vertically, then
horizontally. Clean the brush.
Skylights:
If you can't get your vacuum to reach these areas, use a mop or broom
handle or a fishing pole and cover it with an old T-shirt to do the job.
Air vents:
Fuzzy dust and cobwebs cling to heating vents and air conditioners.
Vacuum well to suck up this gunk.
Dishwasher
Yes, the inside of your dishwasher accumulates dirt and gunk!
Pour a cup or so of household vinegar into the bottom and run a cycle.
